Faraday Protocol is a puzzle game, clearly inspired by such titles as Portal or The Talos Principle. The game was developed by Red Koi Box studio and was published by Deck13.
Plot
Faraday Protocol takes us on a journey to the science fiction universe, where space travel is an everyday reality. The main character of the game is Raug Zeekon - an interstellar astrologer from the planet Cunor. The protagonist is sent by his company to an unknown system and his task is to investigate the source of a mysterious signal.
Zeekon lands in a place called OPIS, where he is welcomed by an artificial intelligence - Iris. Zeekon lands in a place called OPIS where he is welcomed by an artificial intelligence - Iris. In order to investigate the mysteries of this location and find out who, when and for what purpose built the advanced structures here, which bring to mind Mesopotamian ziggurats, he must solve a series of complicated puzzles. How his story will unfold (and end) depends on our actions and the choices we make.
Mechanics
In Faraday Protocol the action is shown from the first person perspective (FPP). During the game we wander through futuristic locations. Exploring them, we encounter puzzles almost at every step, whose level of difficulty increases as we progress. To solve them we use a tool called Bia-Tool, which allows us to manipulate energy; thanks to it we can activate various switches or manipulate various devices. The Bia-Tool works in two modes - orange energy allows us to activate or deactivate power lines and individual devices, while blue energy allows us to redirect power or connect different elements of the OPIS machinery.
Technical aspects
The graphic design of Faraday Protocol looks decent. We especially like the visited buildings and their interiors, which are made in the art deco style. The game is accompanied by a pleasant soundtrack.
