An economic strategy, in which we create shelter for magical creatures. Fantastic Haven allows us to take care and rehabilitate the animals so that they can return to the wild. This is all done to help restore the balance ruined by humans and technological progress.
Fantastic Haven is an economic strategy in which we establish and manage a shelter for fantasy creatures, taking care of harmed animals. We also interact with the inhabitants of the land, trying to permanently restore balance to the magical land. The game was created by the two-person French studio Piece of Cake, and was released by Goblinz Publishing.
Plot
Human activity and technological progress have disrupted the balance of the world, leading to the disappearance of magic, degradation of natural habitats, and harm to magical creatures. Our task is to guide the mission of the Elders, defenders of the continent, returning to degraded areas to save the magical representatives of fauna in the newly established center. We also need to convince locals, through diplomacy and education, to live in harmony with nature, to stop hunting and their destructive practices.
Gameplay
The basis of our actions in the game is a shelter built from scratch in the area chosen by us for fantasy creatures, where rescued animals will be able to regain their full strength, allowing them to return to the wild.
For this to be possible, first we need to take care of the appropriate infrastructure erected by the Elders of Ether of the five elements, which we can obtain during expeditions around the world. The key objects we need to construct include a kitchen, a clinic, quarters for magicians and a factory for golems. They are responsible for preparing such tasks as cleaning, preparing and delivering food. Other structures allow for research on new technologies and buildings or observing creatures to provide them with better care.
After building the necessary infrastructure, we can focus on enclosures for rescued creatures, limited by a magical barrier. They must provide conditions tailored to the needs of a given species (expressed in many statistics) - appropriate land and water area, vegetation, access to food, and even toys to entertain the animal. All of this is prepared so that they can fully recover and be released into the wild or reproduce in center.
Some species have similar enough requirements that they can stay in the enclosure together, if they are not hostile towards each other. Individual animals also differ in character, which can be recognized by observing from towers erected especially for this purpose. The characteristics of the animals influence their tendency to escape, aggression, sociability or how easy they can become sick.
Creatures simply end up on our doorstep, but we can also find them during expeditions on the world map. Our expeditions also serve to discover important places in the area, acquire Ether, and interact with locals, who are not always immediately willing to cooperate and often require a favor before they are willing to talk and negotiate.
