Faeria is a card game enriched with turn-based strategy elements. It was released on PC, AND and iOS. The game uses free-to-play distribution model with microtransactions and it was developed by Belgian studio – Abrakam.
Plot
The story of Faeria takes place in an old fantasy realm inhabited by humans and other intelligent species. Each corner of this world contains many interesting stories and the air is filled with magical energy. The game emphasizes the history of the fictional universe and people who like to dig up such information will find many opportunities in this game to do so.
Mechanics
Faeria released on PC, AND and iOS offers a refreshing approach to the card game genre. The gameplay consists of traditional battles waged between two players by using cards drawn from decks created by them. At the same time the players must gather resources and use them in the war. The cards represent heroes, effects and spells, but they cannot be played freely – the screen is filled with a map divided into hexes on which the cards must be used.
Interestingly, the map is empty at the beginning of the game. Only due to players’ actions it becomes filled with hexes through which summoned heroes can move. This means that the players are shaping the battlefield, and different terrain types can impact the effectiveness of units and spells. Together with the fact that the characters must stand on neighboring fields in order to be able to start the battle, it creates an atypical system thanks to which Faeria stands out among other card games.
The fact that the game allows owners of different gaming platforms to face each other, and the accounts are the same for all versions are additional merits of the game.
