A two-dimensional platformer game which casts the player in the role of Mae Barrons - an exorcist who specializes in ghosts. In contrast to other exorcists, Mae uses rocket launchers, machetes, spells and various gadgets to fight the beings from another dimension. Gameplay in Extreme Exorcism is based on an innovative pattern - each defeated ghost is replaced by another that recreates movements the protagonist performed in the previous fight.

Extreme Exorcism, released on PC, PS4, etc., is a 2D platformer. |The game focuses on paranormal atmosphere and dynamic action. The player takes on the role of an unorthodox exorcist, who has turned the fight against spirits into her life passion. The game was developed by Golden Ruby Games.

Plot

Mae Barrons, the protagonist of Extreme Exorcism, has gained fame thanks to her remarkable effectiveness in chasing out spirits. Unlike other exorcists, she doesn't use holy water, prayers or bizarre detectors - the secret of her success lies in rocket launchers, swords, spells and the rest of her exceptionally deadly equipment. The task she has to face, however, is the most difficult one in her career to date. The evil lurking in a haunted house has one very specific ability - every spirit killed replaces another, which copies the movements of the heroine performed in the previous fight.

Mechanics

This mechanic is the core of Extreme Exorcism. Thanks to this, every battle is a new challenge, and the actions of the opponents cannot be simply "learned by heart". This mechanic also leads to interesting situations in which the player is forced to think ahead by taking into account the next battle. Each campaign mission takes place on one of ten unique stages. They differ not only in appearance but also in the way they are designed, which forces the player to modify proven tactics. Players can go through the campaign alone or in cooperation mode.

Game modes

Another type of gameplay available is team defense against ghostly hordes and the so-called deathmatch in which players not only fight against spirits but also have to eliminate each other. In addition, there is a challenge mode in which we fight evil according to very strict rules.

Technical aspects

The graphics in Extreme Exorcism are very simplified - the screen is full of colorful pixels and angularity. This applies both to the locations, as well as to the character models.
