Everreach: Project Eden is an action RPG developed by the independent studio Elder Games, also known for working on RTS titled Meridian: New World. The developers were inspired by such series as Mass Effect, Destiny, and Halo. The team of developers comprised Mai-Anh Tran (an artist who previously worked on WarCraft and Star Trek Beyond movies) and the scriptwriter Michelle Clough (whose portfolio includes the Mass Effect trilogy).
Plot
Everreach: Project Eden takes players on a journey to the titular planet of Eden. This is a unique (because it is suitable for human settlement) globe, not only rich with natural environment but also hiding the traces of advanced civilization. The preparation of the first Earth outpost was in full swing here but the plans for an early colonization were thwarted by mysterious complications. The protagonist, Nora Harwood, is tasked with investigating and solving these problems and, as it were, she reveals the secrets of Eden that have been hidden for centuries.
Mechanics
In Everreach: Project Eden players observe the action from the third person perspective (TPP). A variety of locations await to be explored, including a sandy desert, a dense forest, a futuristic city, and finally gloomy caves. The game revolves around completing tasks that push the plot forward, as well as side missions commissioned by the inhabitants of the planet Eden.
In addition, dynamic battles with opponents play an important role here. A rich arsenal of firearms and gadgets as well as a futuristic motorcycle called Zeus help players eliminate hostile soldiers and aggressive representatives of local fauna. The latter enables quick evacuation from the battlefield; one can also use it for exploration. As the story progresses, Nora gains more and more powerful equipment, and unlocks new levels of experience along with skills to develop her combat potential.
Technical aspects
Players are bound to enjoy Everreach: Project Eden due to its colourful design, as well as richly detailed environments and character models. The game also features an atmospheric soundtrack.
