The 23rd expansion pack for EverQuest – a MMORPG game that debuted in 1999. The DLC expansion was developed by Daybreak Game Company and this time the story concentrates on a war that is about to start in Norrath after the Emperor Tsaph Katt reformed the realm. The expansion pack doesn’t introduce any revolutionary changes to the gameplay mechanics – instead, it is based on well-received solutions.
EverQuest: Empires of Kunark Description
Empires of Kunark is the 23rd expansion to one of the longest developed MMORPGs, the famous EverQuest by Daybreak Game Company. The first version of the game debuted in the spring of 1999 and since then the American developer has been developing its production, offering its users at least one big expansion per year. Over the years, EverQuest has been systematically improved and enriched with new content, and despite its age (and the 2004 sequel), EverQuest continues to be very popular among players.
Plot
After many decades of sleep, Emperor Tsaph Katta decides to reform his empire, considered to be the cradle of the human race, at all costs. After rebuilding the former capital of his nation, Katta Castrum, the ruler's goal is to renew the coalition of all races of the Norrath land and lead them into a new century of development. It turns out, however, that not everyone is going to follow Katta's and his allies' plans. In order to complete his work, he will have to face new, powerful opponents and prevent the great war that can soon affect all Norrath.
Mechanics
This expansion introduces a fairly typical set of new features, including seven new conquest zones, new missions and tasks, as well as previously unavailable monsters, weapons, and items. Fans of multiplayer rallies will find here 8 additional missions, and for those who like collecting, the developers have prepared 24 new collections. The main change in the gameplay is the introduction of the Familiar Key Ring, thanks to which each of the characters has quick access to up to 10 familiars.
Technical aspects
Technically, Empires of Kunark does not make any revolutionary changes to the original game. The only significant new thing is the updated appearance of the Sarnak race.
