Mechanics

Everdream Valley makes use of the third-person perspective (TPP). The game is set in an open world, featuring many different activities, the most important one being helping our grandparents run their farm. We must cultivate the land and nurture the plants, harvesting the fruit (and vegetables) of our labor. We also need to acquire resources used to maintain and expand the farm. Other than that, we'll raise farm animals and get to know the valley's inhabitants and their peaceful lives. The player' accompanied by a canine friend - one of ten available dog breeds, who helps us herd and guard animals or search for treasure. Ambitious players can also try befriending a cat, which, if it takes a liking to us (and feels like it) can help us as well.

Our holidays don't involve only farming work. We can roam the world and learn its secrets, sleep in a tent, build treehouses, collect insects, fish and hunt for treasures. The real magic only happens at night, when our character is haunted by dreams, during which we play as various animals. This lets us wander around and participate in mini-games, earning special rewards.
