A hidden object adventure game inspired by Slavic mythology. The production is the fruit of cooperative labor of The House of Fables and Artifex Mundi, which specializes in the genre. In the game, we assume the role of a famous botanist who arrives at an old Slavic open-air museum to save a valuable plant at the request of her grandmother.

Eventide: Slavic Fable is a hidden objects adventure game inspired by Slavic mythology. The production for PC, PS4 and etc. is a fruit of collaboration between two Polish development studios: The House of Fables and Artifex Mundi, which specializes in the genre and created titles such as Nightmares from the Deep, Grim Legends, Clockwork Tales and 9 Clues.

Story

Eventide: Slavic Fable takes the players for a journey to an amazing land full of legends and myths of East-Central Europe. The story is set in a modern open-air museum where, apart from humans, all kinds of old Slavic deities and magical creatures still exist. The protagonist is a famous botanist who arrives at the heritage park at the request of her grandmother, the curator, in order to save a valuable plant, the mythical Fern Flower. Upon her arrival, it turns out that the heroine is faced with a much bigger challenge. Her grandmother was kidnapped by a mysterious thug, Boruta, who wishes to conquer the world by using the power that lies in the old open-air museum. To defeat the evil and set her relative free, the protagonist has to join forces with the magical creatures that inhabit the place.

Gameplay

As far as gameplay mechanics are concerned, Eventide: Slavic Fable is an adventure game typical of Artifex Mundi and offers numerous hidden object puzzles as well as a number of logic mini-games. The player’s task is to search subsequent locations with the aim of finding objects necessary to solve riddles that push the story forward. In total, the developers prepared 38 hand-drawn levels in which there are 43 puzzles and unique scenes with hidden objects. The special edition of Eventide: Slavic Fable offers an additional adventure in which the protagonist sets out to find the Fern Flower during the Midsummer Night.

Technical aspect

On the technical side, Eventide: Slavic Fable for PC, PS4 and etc. does not deviate from the high quality of other Artifex Mundi productions. In the game, we move through static, hand-drawn and incredibly colorful locations. The title also offers animations and cutscenes that illustrate the story. The game is complemented by a Slavic-themed soundtrack.
