Europa Universalis IV: Rights of Man is an expansion for Europa Universalis IV, a grand strategy game released in 2013. Both titles, available on PC, were created by Paradox Interactive studio. The expansion requires the base game to be installed.

Mechanics

The add-on includes a number of functionalities, which at first may seem small, but together they leave a fairly significant impact on the gameplay. One of the novelties is so called Great Power system, which gives the most powerful nations more diplomatic options, allowing to threaten weaker nations. You can also influence their decisions through positive actions. Europa Universalis IV: Rights of Man for PC also expands the monarchs’ personalities, who as the time goes, receive new traits which award bonuses to their nations, or influence the way in which the competitive countries treat their states.

Thanks to the add-on, Coptic religion and fetishism have received new objectives. We had also received additional, more detailed orders for subjugated nations, increasing their efficiency during war. The Ottoman Empire received a set of new events and options connected to power plays brewing in harems.

Aside from these novelties, Europa Universalis IV: Rights of Man does not change the rules of the game. It is still a large scale, real-time strategy, in which we have to manage every aspect of a nation, taking care of technological progress, economy, politics, diplomacy, and conducting warfare.
