The sixth major DLC for the 2013’s Europa Universalis IV, a part of the grand strategy game series developed since 2001 by Paradox Interactive. The biggest novelty of Europa Universalis IV: Common Sense is the new province development system that limits provinces’ expansion based on their size and the so-called development level.

Europa Universalis IV: Common Sense is the sixth expansion pack for the popular grand strategy game, Europa Universalis IV, developed by Paradox Interactive and released in the summer of 2013. Just like its predecessors, the add-on brings a lot of changes and improvements to the gameplay.

The most important element introduced in Common Sense is the new system of provincial development. Developing these lands is now limited by their area and development value. By spending monarch points, we may improve the buildings in the province, which makes them more efficient and profitable. The new limits force the player to plan ahead and plan carefully for it may turn out that in order to build a desired building, we may have to destroy one of the previously erected, and therefore lose the benefits it granted us.

Apart from that, Common Sense brings parliamentary system, new religions (Buddhism, Protestantism) and national churches that “modify” faiths in ways that profit monarchies. As we invest in development of our country, our reign raises in its rank, which also grants us new benefits. Furthermore, the nations in the game were enriched with new actions and mechanics that emphasize their uniqueness.

Everything is complemented by a bunch of technical improvements and a few significant changes in the map of Europe.
