Nordic Horizons is the eleventh major expansion to ETS2, a popular truck simulator by SCS Software. The expansion adds northern Scandinavia into the game, that is, territory of Norway, Finland and Sweden.
Euro Truck Simulator 2: Nordic Horizons is the eleventh "major" expansion to the titular truck simulator by Czech studio SCS Software. It expands the map up to northern Scandinavia, after its southern regions were already added to ETS 2 in its second expansion, Scandinavia.
Mechanics
Gameplay-wise, Nordic Horizons doesn't introduce any significant changes to Euro Truck Simulator 2. The game still focuses on transporting goods from point A to point B as quickly as we can.
New region
The main new feature of Nordic Horizons is the aforementioned new region. It includes:
- Norwegian fjords up to the Arctic Ocean, full of narrow streets, fishing villages, underwater tunnels, long bridges, beautiful landscapes and reindeer;
- Norrland, the northernmost area of Sweden, one of its four historical lands, today consisting of barren hills and industrial areas connected by the coastal European E4 route;
- Finnish Lapland, its dense forests and barren tundra contrasting the more urbanized southern part of the country.
While exploring northern Scandinavia in ETS 2: Nordic Horizons, players will get to observe regional architecture - wooden houses, farms, red barns - and learn some things about the vikings. The DLC also emphasizes two popular Swedish car brands, Volvo and Scania.
Technical aspects
Nordic Horizons is not a standalone expansion, requiring the base version of Euro Truck Simulator 2.
