The second part of a series of FPP action adventure games, launched in 2014. In Estranged: The Departure, we play the role of a fisherman, who finds himself on a mysterious island. During the game, we explore its secrets and fight against enemies with cold weapons or firearms.
Estranged: The Departure is the second part of a series of action adventure games initiated by Estranged: Act I, released in 2014. The game was produced by an independent developer - Alan Edwardes - with help from translators and testers. Interestingly, although the described game made its debut as Estranged: Act II, soon afterwards the author decided to change its title, wanting to clearly communicate to players that it is a fully independent product.
Estranged: The Departure tells a story that does not require knowledge of the plot of the first part of the series. The main character of this game is a fisherman who is thrown out on the shores of a mysterious island during a huge storm. The protagonist is left with nothing but to try to explore this place, which consequently leads him to discover the secrets of the enigmatic Arque Corporation.
In Estranged: The Departure we observe the action from the first person perspective (FPP). The main element of the game is to learn more about what is happening on the island. You will find here a picturesque coast and a small town, as well as shivering underground and research facilities. Exploring these places, we talk to the characters we meet, read information stored on computers and listen to audio journals, which gradually allows us to put together the elements of the story puzzle. A visit to this piece of land is far from being an idyll, as it is full of enemies that pose a deadly threat to the protagonist. If we want to survive, we must defend ourselves against them with cold weapons and firearms.
The graphic design of Estranged: The Departure presents high quality. What makes the project so impressive is that it is the work of one developer, which was created in his free time.
