Eryi's Action is the debut work of Japanese development studio Xtal Sword. The creators described their production as a "trapformer", which is to be emphasized by the combination of 2D platformer elements and a puzzle game rich in traps.
Eryi's Action is set in a fantasy world. The title character intends to consume the impressive melon she left at home. Unfortunately, it turns out on the spot, that in the meantime, the insidious Farta became interested in the juicy fruit. Regardless of the dangers, revenge-hungry Erya follows the thief's footsteps to regain tasty property.
The gameplay is maintained in the style of classic 2D platformers with side view. Game developers have prepared a total of 12 vast levels, where the player has to show agility in jumping between platforms, cunning in avoiding traps and bravery in battles with powerful enemies.
The game is addressed to more experienced audiences, and as a result, is characterized by a relatively high level of difficulty. This is particularly true for deadly traps, which often appear in completely unexpected places. Fights with the bosses of each board are also a big challenge.
Eryi's Action's audiovisual setting refers to the classics of the genre, including games from the Super Mario Bros series. Developers from Xtal Sword decided on a simple, yet aesthetically made two-dimensional graphics, which was enriched with simple animations.
