EON: The Face of Deception is a large cRPG production by Swedish company ComputerHouse AB, using the skills of the most famous fantasy writer in Scandinavia (the script is 400 pages long, all dialogues are read by actors). The game takes us to the war-torn land of Soldairn. The country is dressed up in constant battles between the supporters of the reigning king and a part of the aristocracy that wants to cast him out of the throne. Not enough of this neighbors wanting to take advantage of the inner weakness of the kingdom are preparing for a great crusade aimed at expanding their estates. Despite the fact that the ruler tries to control the whole situation as soon as he can, the country is slowly declining and nothing seems to indicate a positive end to his problems. And that's when we, in the form of a certain Marcus, are thrown into the very centre of these events.
The biggest innovation of the EON is that the companions of the main character, Marcus, are not just slavishly executing the player's commands, but people of blood and dice. There are animosities between them, conflicts erupt, even thefts and murders. Just a group of seekers united by a common desire to get rich and gain fame, but ready to throw themselves to the throat of others at any moment. The life of the world in the EON takes place regardless of the behaviour of the characters. Graphically, the program is prepared in a convention similar to Baldur's Gate.
