Entropy Description
Entropy for PC is a MMO space simulator taking place in a science-fiction universe. The team responsible for the title, a Norwegian studio Artplant, can be recognized for a browser game – Battlestar Galactica Online. Nevertheless, it should be noted that in contrast with the aforementioned title, Entropy is not free.
Mechanics
We begin the game with deciding on the looks, race, and abilities of the character which will become our alter-ego. Also, we need to choose a ship that will serve as our base. From that moment, a huge universe with a completely open structure is at the players’ disposal, shaping itself through their every decision.
One of the most important aspects of the game is combat, which is mainly dependent on the player’s abilities. Battles take place in separate instances, with up to 100 participants at once. To increase his chances in combat, the player upgrades his vessel, improving offensive and defensive capabilities, while our alter-ego also develops, receiving new abilities. Mild-mannered players can immerse in trade and exploration as their activities – a myriad of systems awaits explorers, hungry for their resources and ancient relics that will bring immense profits. Some knowledge on basic market rules is also recommended – law of supply and demand forces the player to utilize their gray matter when using the intergalactical market and while choosing a store to unload their cargo – there are numerous space stations and found all over the game world.
Technical Aspects
Similarly to Battlestar Galactica Online, the said production sports quite decent visuals – especially considering that this is an independent title. Additional mainstay of Entropy is the developer support – the team spends a lot of time reading the notes from players, and take them into consideration when creating cyclical updates and expansions.
