Endless Space 2: Awakening is the fourth big expansion to the turn-based 4X space strategy game Endless Space 2. It adds two new factions of Nakalim and smaller Xirmisala to the game. Amplitude Studios is responsible for the development of the expansion.

Mechanics

Endless Space 2: Awakening introduces two new factions to the game. The first one is the Nakalim. It is a group of pious explorers who are connected with the Academy. Their technological progress depends on finding new relics. The Nakalim have the ability to take control of subsequent star systems with a temple system, after which they can resell them to the Academy.

The second faction is the Xirmisala. This is a smaller group that specializes in increasing profits and exploitation of strange planets.

Endless Space 2: Awakening transforms the base game's Academy into an empire that manages star systems and fleets and colonizes new worlds. It's headed by Isyander. Players with an appropriate contribution to the territorial development of the Academy may assume one of four functions. Each of them offers specific benefits and enables us to sit at the helm of a specific flagship.
