Another paid DLC for Endless Legend, a turn-based strategy 4X game from Amplitude Studios released in September 2014. The main feature of this add-on is a new playable faction in form of Morgawr – an aquatic race specializing in naval battles and animal control. Like previous sides of the conflict, Morgawrs have unique buildings, units, technologies and characters.

Endless Legend: Tempest for PC is fourth big expansion for 2014’s turn-based strategy game Endless Legend. Both titles have been developed by Amplitude studio.

Game mechanics

The main attraction of PC’s Endless Legend: Tempest is another playable faction – Morgawrs. They are aquatic races, which specialize in naval battles and manipulating animals. As all other sides of conflict, Morgawrs have unique structures, technologies and heroes.

The arrival of this aquatic faction means that the gameplay expands to seas and oceans, where we can find up to three floating fortresses per region, which must be conquered to take control of surrounding waters. This also resulted in the implementation of a system of naval battles, where we command ships, air units and even various sea monsters. Those fights offer previously unseen mechanics that differ them from in-land skirmishes. Additionally, ancient relics will surface from time to time, each defended by powerful guardian. The latter can even patrol sea routes by themselves, making maritime travel very dangerous.

The gameplay is varied by implemented dynamic weather system and the presence of new A.I.-controlled faction – Formorians, who tries to halt our expansion on seas.

Technical aspects

Endless Legend: Tempest isn’t a standalone expansion, meaning it requires a base version of Endless Legend. Add-on does not improve visual side, focusing on introducing new content instead.
