End of Nations is a combination of a real-time strategy with elements of an MMO. Studio Petroglyph Games gave into the hands of the players the ability to stand by one of the sides in the global conflict in the near future. In the war waged on a large scale thousands of players take part. The battles require the cooperation of a dozen or so people leading their units into combat.

End of Nations is a real-time strategy of an MMO scale. The game was created by Petroglyph Games, whose founders were involved in the creation of the classic Command & Conquer. As befits a full-fledged MMO, the ongoing war involves thousands of players from around the world.

End of Nations presents a bleak vision of the near future. After the global financial crisis of unprecedented scale, the world plunged into chaos. Governments of the existing powers lost control over their societies. Into all this confusion comes the United Nations under a new name - the Order of Nations. This organization stabilizes the situation and unites the nations of the planet under its rule. Unfortunately, the guardians of peace and justice eventually become the oppressors of mankind. Totalitarian authorities take away citizens' rights and ruthlessly suppress even the slightest signs of resistance. Such a situation gives encourages the rebels. Two opposing factions are formed. The only thing they have in common is their enemy, the Order of Nations. First is the Liberation Front, fighting for democracy and freedom for all, and the second is the Shadow Revolution - a group that wants to control the world in the way in which according to them the Order of Nations should do. Both factions, in addition to war with the tyrant, constantly fight against each other.

The player creates a general fighting for one of these two factions: the Liberation Front or the Shadow Revolution (the Order of Nations is non-playable). These fractions are significantly different from each other not only in terms of their views, but, most of all, the type of warfare – e.g. the Liberation Front prefers open battle involving heavy armored units with high firepower, while the Shadow Revolution prefers a quick surprise strike and attacks at a distance.

After selecting a faction and specialization, we proceed to the selection of our units. Each player controls up to a dozen of them, therefore they should be wisely chosen depending on the type of the enemy and the battlefield. As the End of Nations puts a great emphasis on the cooperation between the players, before every match the game gives you a moment to make an appointment with the supporting commanders as to the allocation of responsibilities.

The conflict takes place on an MMO-scaled map of the whole world, which is divided into a number of territories. Thousands of players may fight the war at the same time, and in a battle for an area up to 56. During periods of several weeks, factions fight each other for dominance over the largest possible number of regions, then the conflict is reset, and the winners receive a prize.

Individual battles are played in real time. On the most maps, up to 56 people can play - 28 for each side. Each player commands a small unit, which can compensate its losses with the resources acquired in-game. There is no classical base building, but there is a possibility to strengthen our position with putting stationary watchtowers. With the progress in the battles, our general advances to the next level, allowing you to unlock bonuses allocated to individual units.

Three-dimensional graphics are properly centered between quality and non-high hardware requirements.

The End of Nations can be played for free. At the same time, there is an option to pay a subscription fee in exchange for certain bonuses and cosmetic add-ons. Nevertheless, the creators emphasize that paying players do not receive an unfair advantage over the others, and all the items available in the virtual store can be bought for the points scored in-game.
