else ‹ Heart.break() › Description
Gra else {Heart.break() } is an innovative adventure in which the player was given the power to freely program reality. The whole project was designed by Erik Svedang - an independent developer, who is mainly known for his award-winning surrealist platformer Blueberry Garden. He was assisted in his work by a small group, which included, among others, the talented artist Niklas Akerblad.
The action takes place in a world composed of computers; in the place where beats have replaced atoms. We play the role of a programmer who gets access to the code that governs this reality and is taught how to change it. As the plot develops, its ability to control, re-programme and hack the world will increase.
Fun mechanics else {Heart.break() } is focused on using the creativity of players in a way that goes far beyond simple puzzles and character stats development. The freedom of shaping reality by players is so large that at some point they may even feel like game developers. At the same time, however, all programming is uncomplicated and based on a very simple interface, so that it can be easily learned by someone who has never had contact with encoding. It will still be a game, not a programming course.
In addition to shaping the worlds else {Heart.break() } also offers an extensive storyline layer. The game universe is inhabited by many intelligent characters equipped with interesting personalities. Talking with them and becoming a part of their daily life is an important part of the fun. This has been done in a way that enables the creation of emotional ties with these virtual people, which is then used to tell deeply moving stories.
