Elroy and the Aliens is a point-and-click adventure game, reminiscent of the popular titles from this genre from the 1990s. The game was developed by the independent studio Motiviti from Slovenia and represents its first original project.

Gameplay

In Elroy and the Aliens we take control of the titular Elroy, accompanied by Peggie and other playable characters. Traveling through space, where planets divided into smaller locations await discovery, the protagonists meet the inhabitants of the places they visit, and also solve puzzles that allow them to push the story forward.

The puzzles are based on interacting with elements of the environment, as well as searching for objects and using them in a specific way. Due to the fact that they can pose a significant challenge, a hint system has been implemented in the game.

Story

Elroy and the Aliens transports us to an alternative version of the 1990s, in which space exploration, talking robots, and paranormal phenomena are common things. The main characters of the game are rocket engineer Elroy and investigative journalist Peggie. Our protagonists join forces and leave the city of Slope City to embark on a journey through space in search of Elroy's lost father, who disappeared without a trace eighteen years ago. Somewhat incidentally, the lead characters get entangled in a plot of much larger scale, which is to weigh on the fate of the entire world.

Although all of this sounds very serious, the story told here has a humorous undertone. We can also find many popculture references in the game.
