El Chavo Kart, released on PSV, PS3 and X360, is a 3D arcade racing game featuring go-karts. The game uses the proven formula of the Mario Kart series. The game was developed by Efecto Studios and commissioned by Mexican media giant Televisa. Its characters come from the animated series El Chavo Animado, which has been airing on many television channels throughout Latin America since 2006. The cartoon is based on the original Mexican sitcom El Chavo del Ocho from the 1970s and still enjoys a cult status in many countries of the region.

Mechanics

The gameplay in El Chavo Kart will not surprise players who have at least once played any title from this genre. The creators prepared many colorful tracks loosely based on the locations known from the series. When starting the race, we choose one of the several available characters. Everyone has their unique go-kart, reflecting their personality known from the TV screen. On the track, we have to show not only dexterity but also be cunning. We can achieve victory by using various weapons and power-ups are scattered on the way. This could be, for example, a newspaper that will make you lose control of your vehicle for a limited time. Tracks have forks, allowing you to choose one of several routes to your destination. In some places, you will also find fields accelerating go-karts.

Technical aspects

The graphics in El Chavo Kart aren't as good as the top-of-the-range productions, but players should not complain. The level designs and heroes are colorful and pleasing to the eye. In the background, we will hear voices and music from the TV cartoon.
