Egg vs. Chicken is a casual puzzle game with tower defense strategy elements, which is the result of cooperation between GameLab and PlayFirst. The player's task is to defend the territory against the militant hens coming from different directions. This requires firing eggs, but each salvo can only be fired when at least three eggs of the same colour have been joined together.

Egg vs. Chicken is an attempt by GameLab and PlayFirst to answer the question "what was the first egg or chicken? The production combines elements of a casual match-3 puzzle game and tower defense strategy.

The task of the player in Egg vs. Chicken is to defend the fortu, in which colored eggs are placed, against a flock of angered laying hens and cocks. Intruders can be stopped by egg salvos, but at least three of the same colour should be combined beforehand. Winning a battle allows you to activate the time machine and move to another battlefield.

The game is based on match-3 rules (three elements combined), but the creators were tempted to borrow a few things from action games and tower defense strategy, among other things. The player has to face 12 types of opponents, some of which are resistant to some types of missiles. However, power-ups of various kinds, such as the possibility of repainting eggs, make it easier.
