Eco Tycoon: Project Green is a turn-based economic game that focuses on managing the various environmental aspects and their relationship to the global economy. The Virtual Playground studio, known for its low-budget tycoons, is responsible for its creation. This time, in addition to having fun, we can also gain a better perspective on global environmental issues and learn how we can contribute to the protection of our planet.

The game starts in 2010 and the player's task is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions over the next 50 years in accordance with the recommendations of the world summit, held once every 5 years. This is also where the budget and forms of aid are established, which can be used for promotion and research on ecological problems. Through careful planning and construction of power plants, mines or companies, we must ensure not only that pollution is reduced, but also that there is a balance between production and consumption of energy, water and food, so that the development of the global economy can continue at the right pace.

At Eco Tycoon we have seven playable regions of the globe: North and South America, Europe, Africa, North and South Asia and Australia. Each of them is characterised by a separate balance between the availability of resources, demand and supply, and its own population growth rate. We take control of one of the neighborhoods - the remaining six will be managed by a computer. Although the objectives are the same for all, there is no rivalry between regions, and resources can be traded, allowing us to contribute to our budget with additional funds. The money thus obtained must be invested wisely in research, new technologies and buildings that will reduce the use of natural resources and the level of pollution, including solar power stations, recycling centres and green farms. From time to time, we will also have to deal with various natural disasters, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, oil spills and nuclear waste. They will require our decision on how much financial assistance we will devote to combating their effects.

The game has educational value, and colorful and slightly cartoon graphics makes it possible to attract younger players as well. In addition, the level of difficulty of the tasks to be faced by avid ecologists is not too high. In addition, 7 advisors are constantly on hand to help with financial, energy, agriculture, politics, environment, mining and research issues.
