Earth of Oryn

Mechanics

Earth of Oryn makes use of the top-down perspective. We control one of the factions, tasked with making it the dominant force in the region. It's up to us whether we'll rule with an iron hand or do our best to be fair and just.

We'll spend most of the game gathering resources and constructing buildigns. We can choose from pre-made designs or build them from scratch, manually choosing materials and construction elements.

We must also plan roads, manage our workforce by assigning people to specific tasks, such as farming, building or resource gathering, as well as develop technologically. For example, building bridges lets our people cross rivers, while creating water mills increases our processing power.

Over time, we can start discovering new territories, trade and maintain diplomatic relations with our neighbors. We must also remember our people's needs, wants, establish laws, moral systems and religions.

The army is also important, keeping our lands safe and letting us conquer other factions' territory. Armies can be directly commanded and units can be directly controlled during real-time battles.

Enemy forces aren't the only threat we'll face. Various diseases, natural disasters, predators, bandits and riots can also put an end to our reign. Changing weather and time of day also affect gameplay.

Game modes

Earth of Oryn mostly consists of the story campaign. The game also features a sandbox creative mode, letting us play without any objectives and limitations.

Technical aspects

Earth of Oryn features colorful, appealing low poly visuals. The various, densely vegetated locations and buildings, which collapse into dozens of pieces when destroyed, are all very appealing.
