Mechanics

When you start playing, you receive a not very impressive village - your goal is to transform it into a bustling metropolis. It's not easy, because the land is full of monsters that like to attack human settlements. This is where the heroes come to the aid. However, we must properly encourage them to visit us. In practice, we mainly improve the village, develop technology and manage the budget. The larger and better supplied our settlement is, the more likely it will be visited by heroes willing to undertake dangerous missions. Furthermore, during their adventures and exploration of dungeons, the heroes collect valuable items, which they then sell in our shops, thus expanding their offer.

The game offers many opportunities to increase the attractiveness of our settlement. Apart from shops and inns, we can e.g. set up training schools, which allow us to improve skills of a specific type, e.g. magic or combat. These educational centres can also be used by ordinary settlers, which increases the prestige and popularity of the whole village. There is also an option to organize various holidays and festivals.

Dungeon Village was therefore designed as an economic strategy in which the development of the economy is driven by an independent RPG layer, on which we have only an indirect influence. This is reinforced by events and fictional adventures, during which you have to perform specific tasks, and sometimes also face powerful bosses. This gives the campaign an impression of continuous progress and greatly diversifies the fun.

Technical aspects

Dungeon Village looks like a typical Kairosoft studio game. The action is therefore shown from an isometric perspective, and the graphics are stylized to look like 16-bit Japanese RPGs.
