The second part of the drug dealer simulator series from the Byterunners Game Studio. In Drug Dealer Simulator 2 we find ourselves on the island of Isla Sombra, where, as a hero named Eddie, we make our way from a petty trafficker to a baron shaking up the criminal underworld.

Drug Dealer Simulator 2 is the second part of a series of sim games launched in 2020, in which we play the role of a drug dealer. It was developed by the authors of the original, the Byterunners Game Studio, and its release was handled by Movie Games.

Plot

Drug Dealer Simulator 2 takes us to the first decade of the 21st century. The protagonist of the game is Eddie, who goes through a kind of path from zero to (anti)hero. After the protagonist came into conflict with the law, there was nothing left for him but to escape to the island of Isla Sombra. While there, Eddie intends to realize his dream of making a real fortune. To do this, he gets involved in drug trafficking, step by step aiming to become a real baron shaking up the criminal underworld on this patch of land.

Game mechanics

In Drug Dealer Simulator 2 we observe the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The game gives us a vast open world, which consists of numerous towns and villages, as well as picturesque beaches and bays.

We begin our adventure in drug trafficking by buying suspicious substances from various types from under the dark star and selling them at a profit on the street. Over time, we acquire more and more customers and suppliers, and gain access to better quality drugs. Consequently, we get to the point where we have to deal with purifying the substances ourselves, mixing them and making new ones; for only in this way will we achieve satisfactory quality of the goods we sell.

If we do everything right, over time more and more cash begins to enter our wallet (interestingly, Isla Sombra's economy is based on two currencies - the local and the desirable US dollar). We should invest the accumulated funds primarily in business development, buying new hideouts and laboratories and improving the ones we already have. As the scope of our business begins to grow as we progress, covering more villages and towns, it eventually becomes indispensable to hire employees. In carrying out the tasks assigned to them, our subordinates take on some of our responsibilities. In exchange for diligent execution of orders, we can give them ranks, which brings mutual benefits; they have the feeling of climbing the ranks of criminal career, and we create a gang loyal to us.

It doesn't stop there, as our activities do not escape the attention of either corrupt police, hostile gangs or local militias. We can deal with our enemies by bribing them, trying to act undercover and sneak behind their backs, or by salvaging a getaway when things get out of hand (for example, during one of the raids regularly organized by the militias). The chase scenes are enhanced by the protagonist's mobility, as he deftly overcomes terrain obstacles and jumps across rooftops.
