Drova: Forsaken Kin is an action RPG that draws from both the biggest titles of the genre and from Celtic mythology. The game was developed by the independent German studio Just2D Interactive and represents its debut project, while its release was handled by the company Deck13 Interactive.
Plot
Drova: Forsaken Kin takes us on a journey to a dark fantasy world, which has become an arena of conflict for two warring factions. The stakes are high, as the game is about taking control over the power of a dead empire, and consequently - over the spirits ruling nature.
During the game we take on the role of a character who initially means absolutely nothing. As we progress we begin to have an increasingly significant impact on the course of the conflict, affecting the fate of the entire region. How our story unfolds largely depends on the choices we make.
Gameplay
In Drova: Forsaken Kin we watch the action from a bird's eye view. The game provides us with a vast, open world that we can freely explore. Along the way we meet the inhabitants of the land, talk to them and complete quests for them.
The game allows us to join one of the factions. This choice is difficult, because they are guided by different goals and each of them adheres to their own values. The decision we make can affect the course of the adventure and its outcome.
Fighting our opponents also plays an important role here. We deal not only with hostile people, but also with aggressive animals and other fantasy creatures. We engage in dynamic skirmishes with adversaries, during which we make use of melee and ranged weapons, as well as various combat skills, merging attacks into spectacular and deadly combinations.
As we progress through the game, we develop our character, facing greater challenges over time. If we want to unlock new abilities or improve the ones we already have, we first need to find the right teacher. We also increase our combat potential by finding, acquiring or crafting new equipment, as well as improving the items we already have.
