Driven

An atypical racer, based on an action film from 2001. We play the role of a fast car driver. Depending on the choice made, we proceed to quite untypical missions or classic championships.

Driven is a quite unusual racing, in which we drive extremely fast cars and take part in a series of strictly planned races. The production refers to the 2001 action film with the same title. Fans of the movie will certainly be interested in the fact that the actors appearing in the film (including Sylvester Stallone and Burt Reynolds) dubbed the in-game characters.

Driven initially appeared only on PS2 but after a few months, it was ported to Gamecube. The Sony console version looks a bit worse. This can be seen in particular on the example of the audiovisuals, as well as the not very user-friendly driving model.

Mechanics

Driven doesn't have any official licenses. However, the game has several interesting elements, absent in competitive positions. Driven allows you to take part in some of the events that have been presented in the movie. The player has at their disposal a dozen or so quite extensive missions. Initial tasks only require reaching the finish line, but with time more demanding competitions appear, for example, blocking a specific competitor. The level of difficulty has been set at a fairly high level, even though it is possible to take advantage of additional facilities (e.g. traction system or automatic transmission). Driven has an advanced damage model. Crashes are not recommended, because they can effectively exclude your car from the race.

Game modes

In addition to the missions mentioned above, you can take part in a single race or a classic championship. Both editions of Driven has a multiplayer mode for two players. The only thing that deserves attention is the possibility of completing the championship mode in cooperation. Players play on the same team.

Technical aspects

Driven's visuals aren't impressive. This applies to both the not very detailed car models and the extremely poor environment.
