Dreamscape PC

Dreamscape is another game in the achievements of the French studio Aldorlea Games, known from the Millennium series and the Laxius Force. The production was created on the basis of the popular RPG Maker program.

The plot of the game depicts the adventures of biology student Erin. The girl is asked by her boyfriend, Terry, to look at him as he listens to music through seemingly ordinary headphones. Although the request sounds strange, the heroine agrees to devote a few minutes. A moment later she wakes up in a different reality and sees her beloved move away from the water. The player must help Erin find Terry and find a way back to reality.

The game combines elements of an adventure game and cRPG. The game consists mainly in exploring the location, talking to independent characters and performing the tasks assigned to them. An interesting solution is the ability to immerse yourself in the dreams of people you meet, which is possible thanks to the above-mentioned Terry headphones. In many cases, the dreams of one person conceal the secrets and clues needed to pass the puzzles from the dreams of other characters, and thus push the plot forward. Among the cRPG loans, the foreground is the ability to form a team, the development of heroes based on the experience gained and the fight mechanics in the turn-based system.

Dreamscape's visual setting is maintained in a retro style referring to jRPG games from the era of 8 and 16-bit computers. Two-dimensional graphics with a clearly marked pixel effect are coloured by manga portraits of characters. Also noteworthy is the soundtrack adjusted to the theme of particular locations (dreams).
