Dreamhouse: The Game is a house building and design simulator where the player has the opportunity to take on the role of a beginner entrepreneur and renovate or create a residential building from scratch. DeSand Game Studios has developed and released the game. The game allows you to play with virtual reality goggles and also offers a multiplayer mode.

Mechanics

The game allows you to get to know the work of a construction company from scratch. In Dreamhouse, the player can accept orders for the construction of completely new buildings, as well as carry out general renovation of those ruined, or demolish those whose design does not meet the expectations. It is up to the player to choose the design of the flat and the total cost. Thanks to the game, the player can also test certain solutions that he would like to carry out in real life. The player no longer has to think about how a given piece of furniture will look in a particular colour and arrangement, because the game allows him to buy it (import a real item) and see with his own eyes whether his idea is a hit-and-run or whether he should think about another solution.

Apart from designing the houses and preparing the ground for their expansion, the game also allows to take care of the external space. The player can plant crops, set up stones, lanterns, fence to separate the parcel or choose a place for a doghouse. Moreover, the game offers a very diverse environment. The building can be located in the city centre or on the countryside outskirts, as well as in the forest scenery overlooking the mountain peaks or on a sandy beach near the sea.

Taking a shortcut when designing buildings is quite a risky move, as potential customers will realise if the player neglects something. The game has an advanced Artificial Intelligence algorithm that summarises the effect of player's work: fitting into the chosen style (Scandinavian, classic, modern, etc.), overall cost, speed and accuracy. All these factors affect the final score.

The game is based on the completion of orders, but the player has the opportunity to build his own place. However, in order to start working on his own project, he first needs to raise enough money which the orders he is currently receiving will ensure. Every day, he receives new, moreover, time-limited orders. The player must not only take care of the appearance of the building (painting the walls, selecting panels, buying appropriate furniture and decorations, etc.) but must also remember to ensure that future owners have access to water or electricity. In addition, if the result does not appeal to the customers, you will have to demolish it and start working again. If the player is an extremely bad designer, there is a risk of creating the same building several times. All thanks to Chaos technology, which ensures perfection of workmanship. If the house structure proves to be incorrect (there will be tensions, leaks or flooding), the building will collapse.

Game modes

The game offers the option to play in single player mode as well as online co-op. Thanks to the second option, the player can start working with a friend or, conversely, start competing with him. The game also has a Photo Mode, which allows you to capture the final effect, create a special album or movie and show off your project with those interested or compare it with other players' projects shown in the ranking lists.

Technical aspects

Dreamhouse: The Game is a production with 3D graphics, maintained in the photorealistic style. The furnishings presented here may look like products that can be purchased in the real world.
