Dragon Fin Soup Description
Dragon Fin Soup for iOS, AND and etc. is an RPG title influenced by classic Japanese titles of the same genre. It’s a debut project of Grim Bros. studio.
Plot
The action takes place in a magic-brimming fantasy world, located on top of a gigantic turtle-dragon called Asura. The game offers two modes – story mode and survival. First of them is a traditional campaign that begins in a small village, and allows the player to assume the role of an alcohol-adoring heroine, who slowly discovers the secrets of the land surrounding her. She is called Robin, with her story being a more twisted and adult version of Red Riding Hood story. The protagonist has lost her memory a year earlier, and when the game begins, her memories are slowly coming back. During her journeys, we encounter elements that are either manually prepared by the authors, or procedurally generated.
In the survival mode, we begin the game in the middle of the woods, with our character having to break through a series of increasingly difficult locations and dungeons that are randomly chosen by the game engine. Our goal is to stay alive for as long as possible, and beat our own and other players’ scores. In this mode, each death is permanent, and forces the player to begin over again.
Mechanics
The game offers a turn-based combat system with a lot of tactical depth that includes, among others, different types of damage dealt by different weapons. We can use a large set of battle spells, while trained animals help us during encounters. An option to hire mercenaries is also available. Additionally, the battle maps are dynamic, and allow for destroying most of their elements. The gameplay is diversified by occasional logical riddles and arcade mini-games.
