Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi Description
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi is another console fighting game for PS2 that was developed on the basis on Japanese comic books and animated TV series that tell the story of the Saiyan fighters and their friends, created by a Japanese cartoonist by the name of Akira Toriyama. The said title is also a successor to three productions of the DBZ: Budokai series that came out in years 2002-2004.
Mechanics
The developers let us participate in spectacular duels fought in spacious locations — starting from canyons, though urban areas, and ending with sea depths. The virtual environment is very interactive so, while fighting, we can totally destroy our surroundings. Each of over fifty available characters (Son Goku, Trunks, Kuririn, Piccolo, Vegeta, and others) has a set of standard blows that are performed with legs and arms as well as special energetic attacks of incredible power. It is worth noting that we don’t have to use premade characters since we can create our own fighters and develop them as we please.
Game modes
To save us from boredom, the developers implemented several different modes. Playing solo, we can, for example, take part in a tournament or assume the role of a given fighter to play one of the key scenes from Dragon Ball Z. The game also features a classic split-screen mode.
Technical aspects
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi for PS2 offers well-designed three-dimensional graphics based on the cel-shading technique. The visuals look similar to the animated TV series, and the dynamical camera system gives the gameplay even more cartoon charm.
