The Dragon Ball series, which has been accompanying spectators, readers and players from all over the world for twenty years, is not going to be a thing of the past. New games, based on this extremely popular universe, are released regularly and one of the last is "Dragon Ball: Budokai 2". The game is a sequel to a well-known, appreciated by players fighting in 2002. There are 34 characters to choose from, most of them already known from the first part of the game. The players' control system has not changed much, the basis is still hand, foot and energy projectiles, combined in impressive combinations. As a novelty we can mention the single player mode - Dragon World, which replaced the current Story Mode. In this mode, the player wanders with his team on the map, collects dragon balls and occasionally encounters enemies. In this case, the fight is fulfilled, which, if it is victorious, entitles to further wandering, and if not, the game ends and the word "game over" pops up on the screen. After defeating an opponent, in a moment later another one is encountered and fights again, etc. In addition to the single player mode, there is also Training Mode, where you can polish your fighting techniques to your heart's content, as well as two multiplayer modes: Duel Mode and World Tournament. In the first one, players choose the warriors they will fight with and duel themselves in one of the available arenas. If there is no live opponent, the player's rival can be the CPU. In tournament mode, players fight a number of fights in different arenas, moving on to the next rounds. However, in order to have a choice of many warriors and arenas, you need to unlock them first in Dragon World mode, so it's worthwhile to start communing with this mode. Graphics in "Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2" was not so much improved compared to the first part, as a technical change. The player still has to deal with 3D solids, reflecting the cartoon atmosphere of the Dragon Ball series, but additionally tuned with the use of target-shading technique. In practice, it looks as if the contours of the characters were pulled with a thick felt-tip and we must admit that the comic character of the game is even more emphasized. The sound does not differ from what the first Budokai served to the players and musically refers to the series "Dragon Ball Z". The voices of the game characters also sound authentic, as they were lent by the actors making the soundtrack in the American version of the series. At the end of the game it is worth mentioning that it is possible to import characters to Budokai 2 from the first part of the game.
