Plot
The story told in Don't Knock Twice was based on an urban legend about a demonic witch. “One knock to wake her from her bed; Twice to raise her from the dead”, says the counting-out rhyme. The player assumes the role of a woman who lost contact with her daughter. The search of the lost girl takes her to a grim mansion that hides a dark secret, which she will have to solve.
Mechanics
The action of Don't Knock Twice for PC, PS4 and etc. is presented from the first-person perspective. There is a vast building at our disposal, filled with various objects that can be interacted with. The gameplay is based on exploration, seeking carefully hidden clues, and fighting encountered enemies taken straight out of nightmares. While combating specters is possible, since the heroine uses the items she found on her way, powerful opponents will require us to flee. Moreover, the game is filled with the so-called jump scares since the creatures from the beyond usually attack by surprise.
Technical aspects
Don't Knock Twice for PC, PS4 and etc. is characterized by high-quality three-dimensional graphics. Both the mansion and the furnishings and other objects were created with attention to detail. Another noteworthy element is the advanced lighting. The game is also enriched with an atmospheric audio layer which is full of terrifying sounds. The title supports VR headsets but they aren’t obligatory.
