A point-and-click adventure game that takes us on a journey to postapocalyptic reality. While playing Don't Escape: 4 Days in a Wasteland, we play the role of David, who fights for survival. Within four days, the hero has to face the numerous threats lurking in the wilderness and try to find a way out of his current situation.

Don't Escape: 4 Days in a Wasteland is a point-and-click adventure game developed by an independent Polish developer using the pseudonym Scriptwelder. Although this title is his first commercial work, it is not his debut project because the author has a number of browser games in his portfolio.

PLot

Don't Escape: 4 Days in a Wasteland takes us to a post-apocalyptic world. As a result of a space catastrophe that led to the explosion of the Moon, the Earth, torn apart by natural disasters on a global scale, became unsuitable for life. The few who have managed to survive have to fight for every day.

One such survivors is David, who is haunted by nightmares, which he considers prophetic. The protagonist has to survive the title four days in the wilderness at all costs; during this time he faces the dangers hunting him every night and tries to find out if there is a way out of his current situation.

Mechanics

Watching the action in isometric view, in Don't Escape: 4 Days in a Wasteland we travel through the post-apocalyptic wilderness, looking for useful equipment; we are talking about weapons and objects needed to solve puzzles.

Although we have full freedom in the course of the game as to where to go at any given moment, the hero has a limited amount of time each day that he can spend visiting and plundering other places (which often requires clearing the road, for example by repairing a damaged bridge) or fortifying his house to prepare it for the next night. After dark, his hiding place must provide him with shelter from various threats - from attacks of bandits or mutant spiders, to being resistant to clouds of poisonous gas or waves of hot air. These dangers, similarly to the puzzles encountered in the game, are randomly generated, which increases the replayability of the title.

David is not alone in his quest, as other characters can join him in the course of the adventure. We're talking about Cate, a former pilot who can handle weapons, a mechanic named Barry, who knows the area and the orphan named Cody. Each of them has unique skills that can be useful.
