DLC Quest is an arcade 2D platformer by Going Loud, an independent studio. The game is a parody of the industry sztamp. The player directs the actions of the hero who tries to free his beloved princess from the hands of the scoundrel and save the world, while collecting coins needed to "buy out" further elements of the game offered as a DLC.

DLC Quest Description
DLC Quest, released on PC and X360, is the third, after Zombie Accountant and Lair of the Evildoer, game by Going Loud studio. This time, Ben Kane, together with his development team under his leadership, made a 2D platformer, a parody of the tropes that are common in the video game industry.
Plot
The PC version of the game offers two single player campaigns: DLC Quest and Live Freemium or Die. The player directs the actions of the daredevil, who must free the beloved princess from the hands of a villain, save the world, and, at the same time, collect enough coins to buy out the next elements of the game sold as DLC.
Mechanics
As befits a platformer, the gameplay is mainly about jumping between platforms, avoiding obstacles, traps and fighting enemies. However, the key element of the game is its shop. The coins collected by the player can be used to buy various "extras", including animations, map packs, Canadian dialogues, and even sexy costumes.
The creators of DLC Quest made a multitude of jokes about popular video games, including Super Mario Bros., Limbo, Megaman, Final Fantasy, Dragon Age, Diablo III and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, as well as phenomena common in the industry - from incomplete productions and patches fixing other patches, through pay-to-win and long loadings, to zombies, HD reeditions and absurd achievments.
Technical aspects
The visuals of DLC Quest are maintained in a retro style. The two-dimensional graphics are characterized by a limited palette of colors and pixelization effect.
