DJMAX Respect V Description
DJMAX Respect (DJMAX Respect V on PC) is a classic two-dimensional rhythm game offering several game modes, an accessible gameplay model, as well as hundreds of songs of various musical genres. The production debuted in 2017 in East Asia, where it was available exclusively on the PlayStation 4. After a year from release, it was officially released in the West, and in 2019 it also hit the PC. It is worth adding that the title is a special edition of the DJMAX cycle, which was brought to life in 2004 by the Korean company NeoWiz Games and has at least a few dozen parts, which appeared mainly on mobile platforms such as PSP and PS Vita game consoles, as well as phones and tablets with iOS and Android systems.
Mechanics
DJMAX Respect includes almost 100 tracks taken fromDJMAX Portable (released in 2006) and DJMAX Portable 2 (2007). The developers will also allow you to purchase additional songs as DLC. In sets of additions we will find music from games: DJMAX Portable Clazziquai Edition, DJMax Portable Black Square, DJMAX Portable 3, DJMAX Technika, DJMAX Technika 2, DJMAX Technika 3, DJMAX Ray and DJMAX Hot Tunes.
The production uses a gameplay model that came straight out of the most popular releases from the DJMAX series that were released for the PSP. As in Guitar Hero or Rock Band, during the game, we see a vertical lines divided into several tracks, on which colored blocks appear; moving from top to bottom of the screen, each track has one button on the game pad assigned to it, and we have to press it in the right moment.
Game modes
DJMAX Respect offers several game modes. In addition to being able to play in the standard arcade mode, where we select more songs from the list of common tracks, players can also test their abilities in the campaign, offering a number of missions that impose all sorts of restrictions and obstacles. There is also the option to play multiplayer over the network and locally, on split-screen.
Technical aspects
DJMAX Respect doesn't offer advanced graphics. However the game's interface was implemented with great attention to detail, and the music videos displayed during the game were reworked and made available in the HD version.
