The spaceship on board of which the action takes place fell into a trap set by a hostile alien race. Dispatcher for PC is a science-fiction action RPG with horror elements. It’s the debut work of Russian studio Civil Savages from St. Petersburg.

Story

The game takes place aboard the titular spacecraft carrying people who set off to explore the undiscovered corners of the universe. Unfortunately, something completely different than expected awaited them in the empty and cold space. As a result of an unexplained accident, the crew got ambushed by an aggressive alien race. Part of the crew survived the confrontation, but those who remained alive had contracted a mysterious virus and are not as friendly as one might think. In addition, the facts indicate that this wasn’t an accident, and someone from the crew could have been involved. The player, as the only "healthy" person, is embroiled in a complicated intrigue. His or her goal is to discover the causes of the incident and, of course, stay alive.

Gameplay

In terms of gameplay, it’s a first-person action RPG that combines the mechanics of modern survival horrors with the atmosphere of classic science-fiction films from between the 60s and the 80s. Similarly to the hit Alien Isolation, we don’t use any weapons, and while confronting four different kinds of monsters our only chance of survival lays is stealth and escape. The key to success in the game is the ability to move silently and solve puzzles as well as properly scout locations, some of which are procedurally generated, which makes each new game a bit different.

Five character classes are available, each of them with unique strengths and weaknesses that determine the course of the game. The character development and the acquisition of new skills are based on experience, gained upon completing subsequent story-based tasks. Interestingly, as the story progresses, the monsters develop as well.

Game modes

Dispatcher for PC has been designed for co-op, so the vast majority of tasks require collaboration and interaction between the characters. The developers have also prepared other multiplayer options, including a mode in which one player assumes the role of a monster, and their task is to eliminate the other players.

Technology

In terms of graphics, the production from Civil Savages studio is powered by Unreal Engine 4, which guarantees high quality. As befits a horror game, Dispatcher for PC features dark atmosphere and a constant sense of danger.
