Disney Sports Basketball Description
Hit the hardwood for two-on-two arcade hoops action with Disney's most popular cartoon characters. The teams are:
• Super Stars; captain: Mickey; home court: Mickey's Super Star Center
• Charmers; captain: Minnie; home court: Charmer's Castle,
• Sea Ducks; captain: Donald; home court: S.S. Cantankerous
• Belles; captain: Daisy; home court: The Belle's Mall Park
• Space Nuts; captain: Goofy; home court: Vista Arena
• Shifters; captain: Max; home court: Stoneyard
Once you've chosen a team, any of the other players can be chosen as your teammate. Players are rated in a host of characteristics, including speed, jump, three-point shot and attitude, so be sure to balance your team.
As you play and win games, you'll earn ability-upgrading items. At game's beginning, only the easiest of three difficulty levels is available.
Zany fun, not realism, is the clear goal of a game that features six-point shots and items like the Rocket Wrist, which allows you to make unblockable lay-ups. You can eliminate rules regarding out-of-bounds, shot-clock violations and defensive fouls.
You can play exhibitions or in a league. A training mode helps you master 23 different skills. There are also six basketball-themed minigames:
• 1 on 1 offense
• 1 on 1 defense
• 2 on 1 offense
• 2 on 1 defense
• 3-point contest
• Free throw
Multiplayer action requires GBAs and Game Paks for every player and enough GBA Game Link cables to connect all systems.
Flying under the radar of all those NBA-licensed games, Disney Sports Basketball delivers simplified but fun hoops action.
