Die Young is an independent game exploration game with focus on survival features from an internal studio of Indie Gala. It was released for PC, PS4 and XONE among other platforms.
Plot
Die Young puts players in control of a young girl, trapped on some Mediterranean island inhabited by the enigmatic, rural society. She doesn’t know why and by whom she has been kidnapped. Discovering that is important, but not the only objective, as the players also have to escape from this nightmare.
Game mechanics
Die Young for PC, PS4 and XONE uses first-person perspective (FPP) and focuses on exploring the open world and fighting for survival. Its environments consist not only of rural landscape, but also mysterious village, ancient ruins and dark caves and mines.
It is important to keep track of the heroine’s condition, assuring she isn’t hungry or dehydrated and has proper equipment. Interestingly, there are no weapons for her to use, so when faced with threats, she can only run fast and climb to escape enemies. Facing them head on leads to rather unpleasant end – decapitation with axe and similar scenes are a common sight here.
Technical aspects
Die Young is based on Unreal Engine 4 technology, resulting in high quality of visuals, especially greatly detailed plants moving with the wind. There is also a soundtrack prepared specifically for this title.
