A 2D action adventure game that combines Scandinavian mythology with modern pop culture elements. It was developed by Castle, a Russian-American studio. The protagonist is a red-bearded Viking called Sigurd, whose biggest dream is to enter Valhalla. The story of Die With Glory is non-linear to a large extent, which means the way the hero achieves his goal is largely dependent on the player’s decisions.
Die With Glory for PC, AND and iOS is a two-dimensional action-adventure game inspired by the Norse mythology. The project was designed by Castle studio.
Story
The story in Die With Glory for PC, AND and iOS is set in an unusual fantasy world, where elements of Norse mythology are intertwined with those of modern pop culture. The main character is a red-bearded viking by the name of Sigurd, whose dream is to reach Valhalla. Thanks to the non-linear campaign, how this goal will be achieved is up to the player. Through the player's actions - their success or failure in various tasks - the progress in the story is made. Also, the player has to make decisions at key moments, and these will also affect the story.
Gameplay
When it comes to the gameplay mechanics, Die With Glory for PC, AND and iOS is a combination of a platform- and an adventure game. The controls resemble a platform-like gameplay. The players explore two-dimensional levels, where they collect items, overcome obstacles, avoid traps and fight enemies. There are also boss-fights in the game, during which the players have to climb those gigantic monsters in order to strike the final blow.
There is plenty of usual adventure games puzzles to be solved. These require the right use of the discovered items, manipulation of the environment, or using different machines. Elements of strategy games were also implemented. In certain missions, the player is in charge of entire armies - when attacking or defending a castle, or commanding ships during a sky-fight.
