Devour Description
Devour is a co-op survival horror in which players take on the role of a group of cultists and try to perform an exorcism on a person possessed by Azazel. The game was developed and published by Straight Back Games.
Mechanics
In Devour players find themselves in procedurally generated, themed locations - a cottage in the middle of nowhere, a psychiatric hospital or a Japanese guesthouse. Each of these places is inhabited by a person possessed by Azazel.
The aim of the game is to perform an exorcism. In order to do this, a certain number of specific items must be collected and sacrificed. The matter is made more difficult by the fact that each sacrificed object increases the aggressiveness of the possessed person and makes him attack more often. In addition, a number of smaller creatures also appear on the map, which can be fought with a UV flashlight.
When one of the players is attacked by the possessed one, a jumpscare appears. The antagonist then knocks down its victim and moves it to a random location. In order for it to return to the game, another player must "revive" it using a first aid kit.
Experience points are awarded for completed games. With their help we can buy new skills, which make the battle with the possessed easier.
Game modes
Devour allows you to play in a group of up to 4 people.
