Detective Hayseed: Hollywood for PC is a humorous classic point-and-click adventure game full of pop-culture references. It was created by an experienced Czech studio Zima Software and German publishing company Manor Games/Morphicon Media AG.
Plot
The story takes place in the eponymous Hollywood, just before the annual Oscars ceremony. Unfortunately, the winners list is stolen and the case turns out to be a part of a bigger conspiracy aiming at destroying the order in the movie-making city. To make things worse, a mysterious evildoer threatens to detonate a bomb during the show. This is where the eponymous Detective Hayseed steps in, his task being identifying the blackmailer and thwarting their plans. Moreover, he also has other tasks to attend to, such as saving the Star Captain.
Mechanics
In terms of mechanics, the game is a classic point-and-click adventure game, referencing the golden era of the genre. You mostly explore locations in search for clues and various useful items, talk to NPCs and solve puzzles requiring both logical thinking and manual skills. The game is full of jokes and modern pop-culture references, and should satisfy both seasoned players and newbies.
