Desta: The Memories Between is a turn-based strategy game. The project was developed by ustwo studio, the authors of Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, Assemble with Care and Monument Valley series.

Plot

The game tells the story of a young person named Desta, who returns to native land after years of absence. It is not an easy return, as Desta left a lot of unresolved issues at the place.

At home, Desta finds a ball used to play with father when Desta was a child. Desta falls asleep with it in hands and is transported to a strange world located somewhere between reality and dreams. Each subsequent night Desta returns to this place to explore old memories, find the words needs to express what was previously unable to say and repair old relationships.

Game mechanics

The game is a turn-based strategy in which each map represents a memory from Desta's past. In it, the player must solve a variety of problems and fight enemies using a... ball. We use it both to attack enemies and to manipulate the environment.

On most maps we control a team, which includes not only Desta, but also people close to Desta. As we progress through the game we unlock new abilities and additional companions.
