Mechanics

Desolatium is a first-persin game. The player will get to explore many atmospheric locations, such as dark landscapes, interiors and basements. While exploring, they must look for clues regarding the main mystery. There are many puzzles to solve, tasking us with finding specific items, combining them or using them in correct ways.

The game's atmosphere gradually thickens as our heroes descend further into madness. This makes decision-making much more difficult; especially since these decisions will determine will the protagonists survive and will they succeed in their investigation.

Technical aspects

Visually, Desolatium makes use of recordings of real locations, adding 3D elements to them and applying filters to make the game look like moving comic book frames or old video cassette recordings. The game's audio is another strong suit, making use of spatial sound. The game supports VR, though it is not required.
