Defendin' DePenguin is a less demanding real-time strategy, developed mainly for younger gaming enthusiasts. As the title suggests, the player has an opportunity to make friends with cute penguins.

Plot

Defendin' DePenguin takes place in the polar regions and focuses on a small village inhabited by friendly penguins. The main characters try to protect the fish they have gathered from the predators in the area. We can do that by constructing defense systems to chase away the aggressors, discouraging them from attempting to seize the fish.

Mechanics

The player can use a large set of defensive devices, which are successively unlocked by the game. In the initial phase of the game, we mainly use turrets capable of firing small snowballs. Later, however, we get access to a catapult capable of firing snowmen, cannon loaded with ice bullets or a turret that temporarily freezes or blinds the enemies.

The village inhabited by penguins is attacked by several species of creatures. These include turtles, mammoth, polar bears, wolves, crabs, walruses, foxes, and even the famous Yeti. When placing available objects, the player must take into account not only their limited number but also their usability. Each structure is used to eliminate other types of predators.

Technical aspects

The visuals in Defendin' DePenguin are average, although it is worth noting that the game is in full 3D. Great emphasis is placed on a transparent user interface. The course of the game is observed in isometric projection, and the player can move the view at will, keeping an eye on different parts of the village.
