Easy Allies: 8.5 / 10 by Brad Ellis
Death's Door is a charming adventure filled with delightful characters and engaging combat.
Shacknews: 9 / 10 by Donovan Erskine
Death’s Door combines excellent story and lore with challenging and rewarding combat. As an action game, there’s a lot to love about the enemies faced and customization available. Story can easily take the backseat in a game like this, but the sheer concept of it all and the lore dumped on top makes the story in Death’s Door equally intriguing. Acid Nerve delivers one of the more well-rounded titles I’ve played this year with Death’s Door.
God is a Geek: 9 / 10 by Chris White
Death's Door is a beautiful game, both in the way it looks and the way it plays. Acid Nerve has hit the sweet spot when it comes to combat and exploration.

Death's Door Description
Death's Door is an action game with isometric perspective, where the most important element is the exploration of inhospitable worlds and fighting with enemies. The game has a very artistic graphic design and was developed by a small studio Acid Nerve.
Plot
The story of Death's Door takes place in a world where Crows form well-organized communities and are divided by the duties they perform. The main character's job is to find the souls of the dead in the world beyond the Door. Despite the monotony of this job, he enjoys it very much. Things get complicated, however, when an unknown thief steals one of the souls and starts to run with it through the land full of old, power-hungry creatures.
In the course of the story we'll meet many powerful opponents, led by terrible titans. Each of them has its own history and motivations, according to which they act. In addition, we also learn the truth about the role of the Raven during the transfer of souls, and the narrative is filled with black humour.
Mechanics
The entire gameplay is based on arcade combat and exploration. We observe everything from an isometric perspective, with the exception of a few directed cutscenes.
During the battles, Crow uses mainly his short sword, but can also help himself with magical ranged attacks. Apart from striking out on our own, we also dodge our opponents' attacks by turning at the right moment. Enemies standing in Crow's way take various macabre shapes, depicting the horrors of the land of the dead. You'll face not only doll-like wraiths and overgrown frog-like monsters, but also massive mechanical castles that shoot lasers or "knights" formed from bits of scrap metal joined together. These are divided into regular, rowdy enemies that fill the locations, and tougher bosses with unique attacks and behaviours. Each of these has a mini-story attached to it, expanding the lore of the game world and allowing you to see the main story from a different perspective.
Death's Door also implements a simple system of upgrading our character. Thanks to gained experience points we can improve Raven's stats or improve the operation of specific skills and enhancements. Death's Door is distinguished by original graphic design, looking as if it was hand-painted. Colourful light and particle effects also attract attention, contrasting with the gloomy mood of the game.

Soulslike That Isn't Frustrating - Death's Door Gave Me More Joy Than Pain
Short and sweet – that's exactly what Death's Door is. An inconspicuous, pretty indie game (about a crow) is really uplifting. At the same time, it's a real workout. Even though is partly inspired by Dark Souls, it isn't nearly as frustrating.
