Deadhold

Deadhold for PC is a Squad Based Action RTS developed by the co-creators of such games as Borderlands 2, Battlefield 2, Homefront, and Myth III. Their aim was for the Deadhold to become a modern version of the iconic Myth developed by Bungie back in 1998. As a result, players get at their disposal a game revolving around spectacular battles waged in a dark fantasy world. In the game, players do not have to develop his base or worry about the resources.

Mechanics

In the PC release of Deadhold, a player can become a leader of one of the available factions, such as the Norse Empire, goblins, and ice giants. The army one gets to command can comprise various units – e.g. warriors, rangers, sappers, and medics. Moreover, there are also special units like Lost, Mimic, Frost Giant, and Sneak. The key to success lies in the ability to use this army along with a set of warriors’ special abilities and the elements of the environment – fortifications, natural obstacles, forests, hills, etc. As one progresses through the story, he acquires experience points, which can be spent on new abilities and the so-called relics allowing one access to magical powers.
