The base game was released in march 2016 and was well-received among the series’ fans. Ashes of Ariandel, the game’s first DLC, was released in October 2016. In it, we have visited the land of Ariandel, fought many new enemies and bosses, and gathered new pieces of equipment and new magic spells. The Ringed City is also full of enjoyable new content.

PC Gamer: 77 / 100 by James Davenport
Gorgeous but empty, challenging but not always fair, The Ringed City is a weak reflection of the series' best traits.
Game Revolution: 4.5 / 5 by James Kozanitis
While Ashes of Ariandel created skepticism where there otherwise wouldn't have been, rest assured that The Ringed City is the genuine article and gives Dark Souls III the send-off it deserves.
Destructoid: 8.5 / 10 by Chris Carter
If The Ringed City really is the end of Souls, it manages to hang its head high with the rest of the series. From Demon's to Dark III we have more than enough macabre settings to pore over in the years to come. They aren't all created equal, and some of them aren't even created by Hidetaka Miyazaki, but I'll remember each and every one of them for as long as I live. It's been a wild ride.
