The second of the DLC additions to the second installment of the bestselling action RPG, created by the Japanese studio From Software. Together with the other two it combines into a completely new storyline, the axis of which is the search for three legendary crowns. This time we will deal with getting the second of them, and the action will take us to a tower, unavailable in the basic version of the game, surrounded by a mysterious black mist.

Dark Souls II - Crown of the Old Iron King, released on PC, X360 and PS3, is the second expansion for Dark Souls II, a popular RPG action, which was created by a Japanese studio FromSoftware. The developer has so far had little experience in the production of DLC. Their only previous expansion, Artorias of the Abyss, was prepared for the first Dark Souls, which debuted in 2011 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and a year later on PC. It is worth mentioning, however, that the DLC was praised by players and offered many hours of satisfying gameplay. Crown of the Old Iron King is part of a series of three DLCs that have been built to take full advantage of the specific ideas that characterize the Souls series. Adventures are connected with the basic version of the game and also with each other. During the game, players will have to find three legendary crowns.

Mechanics

The action of Crown of the Old Iron King takes place in a huge tower surrounded by black fog. New opponents using fire and magic await players. The designs of individual building levels will test our perceptiveness and the ability to orientate in the field. Not all paths leading to the target will turn out to be what they seem to be.

Game modes

The creators decided to introduce a special option for players who like cooperation. The expansion contains a special, more difficult path where we face demanding bosses, designed with co-op in mind. What is interesting, the access to this DLC is also available to people who didn't buy it but have downloaded only the appropriate patch. Of course, if we feel strong and our character is of a high enough level, we can deal with the challenge alone.
